Hi P.F.,
I saw your most recent comments. You are correct, those Afghanis are most likely already in danger, however, I feel as though wikileaks isn’t helping matters. We need all the assistance we can get in that region. We do NOT need the added interference of wikileaks instilling more fear into the minds of the Afghan people insofar as if they share info it could be even disseminated via the Web, especially in a time where the Obama Administration has expounded so much political capital on General David Petraeus being able to salvage a win. Quite frankly, it may already be too late to regain trust with the Afghan people. Wikileaks is set to release another slew of documents. The only thing I can see is if the U.S. Government works in concert with the Swedish government to shut them down. That will send a message to the Afghan people that we are working hard to protect the information they give us in the strictest confidence. However, as it stands now, I do NOT see the Obama Administration proactively working with the Swedish government. Then again, maybe there are behind-the-scene negotiations taking place as we speak. Really, I guess I can only introspect.
As for Coolie, there seems to have been some confusion with respect to comments made by her son. However, she has come to me with contrite heart, therefore, I see no reason why we can’t move forward and let the past be the past.
All the best,
H.B.
