rockyou.com : you know its bad when theres code in pics

When norton finds 3 downloaders in pictures, you know immediately that the site bad code in the pixels and that bad code can be uploaded to your browser, then to your computer, and so on. I give it 1 bar. This website WILL HARM YOUR COMPUTER

guidetosecurity3.com : Check N' Verify says: WILL HARM YOUR COMPUTER

I recieved a message from this site prompting me to virus scan my computer. Now, lets break this down and concluude what would have happened if i did not immediately close my browser...lets view this as a step-by-stem process, shall we?

1. Allow it to run the scan
   > It gets past your firewall from there on
   > It can then place any files it wants onto your computer and do it without asking you (unless you have other quality security programs that also protect your computer)

2. The virus scan completes and it comes up with reports of viruses on almost all of your files
    > This is a quality scanner! The irony is that it's finding its own viruses

3. You continue visiting the site while you are absently planting viruses on your computer onto every file in your hard drive(s)

4. You shut your browser and do not delete any internet history

5. After the course of a few hours of idle time the computer crashes internally. You find that your hard drive is dead, your processor is stuck, your motherboard is dying and your memory cards are gone.

I have heard of funbrain.com, i have also visited it once. It has a lot of games for kids and i have never experienced any problems with my identity or computer after visiting it. I say that it is most likely safe, and it seems to be popular among elementary schools.

mcafee.com : Check N' Verify says: I hate McAfee

I have never liked McAfee. The scans take forever and the virus detection is ludocrius. I found 50 viruses with a freeware program whilst the McAfee program that i payed 45$ for found nothing! It runs an ongoing shield on your computer that takes up 85 mb of constant RAM data, which helps you in no way. So, essentially, it does harm your computer in some way, by taking up a large sum of unnecessary hard drive and memory space.

Simple, generated by a weak coding program but still safe and easy to navigate. Generates a page tracker at the bottom of the code to see what browser you are using, and, in the wrong hands that code can be used to plant a cookie in your system and track your internet browsing but, with no external javascript files and no code in any of the html files, i can assume you're good to go with this one.

geocities.com : I quote from shoyru_master_12

"It's safe. Yahoo made it!"

You're treading on thin ice there. Can Yahoo really be considered safe? Does Yahoo not have advertisements at every corner, are they not dedicated to giving you those stupid doubleclick and fastclick pop-up ads? Statistics say that those ads cause nearly 9% of the world's annual computer hacks, viruses and occasionally even destroyed computers. When you look at the big picture, there are trillions of people in the world. When you divide just 1 trillion by 9 you get exactly 111,111,111,111 viruses (that is in the 100-billlions.) Thats how many viruses are taken by Yahoo's famous advertisement compaines. So tell me, can we really trust yahoo? If we cant, or even if we can, can we really trust Geocities, a website created by yahoo?

malwarebytes.org : Check N' Verify says: Secure and Trusted

I use this program as a final-touches security scanner. Norton doesn't find everything, and i've noticed a substantial difference in the amount of files that each of the programs looks at. Malwarebytes finds about 20% more than Norton IS 2010 does. Malwarebytes also takes longer, but that is kind of obvious. If you have norton, you should get this program too, free or pro version, because it is like a cleaner-upper. Totally safe and trusted.

I checked the source code and the website looks entirely safe. They have their registry page encoded with ASP(x) and are using valid, up-to-date secure SQL database management to keep your information secure and unharmed by any hackers. However, I did notice they plant a page tracker on your computer, a.k.a. they can send information to a third-party program/database. I would suggest, Mr. Mark J. Wade that you get the fixed...anyway, until he is nice enough to fix it, I would suggest clearing your browser's cache after visiting this website. Other than that, it is good to go and I give it "Probably safe."

doubleclick.net : No, no and nooooooooooooo...

Going to doubleclick is as bad (or worse) as wiping your hard drive with no backups, then beating your computer with a sledgehammer until it bursts into flames (did I mention with no backups?) It is notorious (along with fastclick.net) for getting malicious tracking cookies on your computer that traceyour web browsing and send information to a third party. Then after it gains power in your system by multiplying itself (it is a cookie-virus) it takes over your computer. It delievers malicious code into all of your files in as little as 3 days. In as little as a week it can make it so your computer doesnt even start up even more (this is especially true with laptops.)

I say stay away from Yahoo, because not only is Google safer, but it has a better search engine.

What misleads people is that all the newsthey get is a RSS feed and if you trace the source youll find that most of the information comes from sites like ESPN or national news, weather and celebrity/popularity websites.
I really don't think that the website that created the internet would have viruses on it. First of all, McAfee is unreliant and should not be trusted, especially when they are throwing an accusation like that.

Second, Haute secure is a freeware program and installs a stupid and annoying toolbar on your internet browser(s). What else do you need?

Lastly, Browser Defender runs an ongoing shield on your computer in case viruses get in, right? Well, that takes up multiple megs of memory space (which never ends unless you intentionally turn it off) and isn't needed! If you're smart, you will always run a scan or two every day. An ongoing shield is useless and just plain annoying.

I say Secure and Trusted.
