birdforum.net : Email notifications from this site

I posted a bird for review and opinion on this site and signed up for email notifications on comments about the bird. I received an email with links back to the thread to read comments. I clicked the link (bad behavior on my part) and was infected by the malwar Backdoor.Tidserv!inf, the page I was taken to also had heuristic virus adware which I was warned about by my Norton product. I have never had a malware virus, but it took an almost complete redo of my PC's operating system. Generally I have browsed this site many times, but I would not sign up for email notifications. Also, paste any link into your browser, or better yet, don't be fooled by an innocent link. The owners of the site probably have no control over the email notification servers, so beware, don't take the chance.

robtex.com : Not that bad

While I would not download anything from this site as I don't know it, I found the information I was looking for and my Norton 360 blocked the trojan and rendered it inoperable.
