<description>This blog redirects you to one of several fake security scanners. They pretend to scan your system for threats and use flashy graphics, but it's all fake. I'm on a Mac and I saw Windows DLL files whizzing by -- it's all fake. Then they tried to install a Windows executable on my system that I didn't ask for.

<description>I received an email claiming to be from the IRS announcing that I was getting a refund. The link in the email was to an IP address for this website.

On the website, there's a set of fake IRS pages that let me fill out information to supposedly get this refund. On the third page in, there are fields asking for your credit card number (with CVV2), and your ATM pin number. That's another dead giveaway!

Don't fall for things like this.

<description>IMDB has always been a great source of information on film. However, recently their ads have grown more intrusive and annoying.

I've started using Wikipedia more for getting information on films --

And no ads!

The link to verify my identity with PayPal was cleverly designed to look like a legitimate PayPal link, while in reality being a link to this unaffiliated site. The link was (do not visit this link):

That link appears to be pointing to PayPal, but it's not.

and request that your address be removed from all mass mailings and junk mailings.
